According to reports, the final screen tests in the James Bond casting process are reportedly underway this week.
The Daily Mail reported over the weekend that Callum Turner (Eternity, Fantastic Beasts) was seen arriving at Bray Studios in West Berkshire, kicking off the final round of screen tests for the hotly-anticipated role. The actor, best known for his high-profile marriage to singer Dua Lipa, joins Jack Lowden (Slow Horses) and Josh O’Connor (Disclosure Day, The Crown) as a contender for the role of the iconic British spy. All three actors are 36 years old.
Reports also mention a mystery fourth candidate, whose identity is still under wraps. Previous candidates included Jacob Elordi and Jack O’Connell, but they are not considered to still be in the running. There is no timeline for when the decision is expected to be made, but many speculate that we should find out by the end of the year.

Amazon MGM Studios acquired the rights to the character in 2022 as part of a £6.9bn deal. The studio was given full creative control and has since brought on producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman, writer Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders), and director Denis Villeneuve (Dune) to helm the franchise’s new iteration.
There are very few details available about the upcoming Bond film, but rumours are swirling that it will be called Bond 26 and will have a 2028 release date. Whichever actor is ultimately chosen, he will join the ranks of legendary actors who have previously had their turn as the beloved character, including Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan and, most recently, Daniel Craig.
