We finally have the first trailer for Peacock’s new comedy series starring Amy Poehler and co-created by Michael Schur. The Parks and Recreation duo return on November 23 on the streamer for a 10-episode run.
When Elise (Poehler) and her team make a historic discovery, what will they do to protect their credit from Neville (Hugh Laurie), the man in charge?
Adapted from Kate Myers’ bestselling novel Excavations (Myers is also credited as a co-executive producer). Dig follows archaeologists and students working on a dig site led by Neville (Laurie) in southern Greece. Completing the site’s core four alongside Poehler is Geraldine Viswanathan as Dylan, Fina Strazza as Patty, and Antonia Thomas as Clare. Together this group brings complimentary comedy styles and personalities to the forefront. The trailer gives us a glimpse at this dynamic grouping being the driving force of the show and its comedy.

Schur and co-showrunner J.J. Philibin wrap up this group of archaeologists’ chaotic fight for power with their signature comedy. We see dramatic falls, severe sunburn, lost generational references and exaggerated injuries, and that’s only from the trailer. What is also notable is the array of supporting and guest cast members set to step into this excavation nightmare. There are Jason Mantzoukas, Brennan Lee Mulligan, Max Greenfield, and Dan Bucatinsky all appearing in the trailer.
It looks like we are in for a lot of laughs and a little nod to Parks and Recreation fans: Poehler is back in the pit.
All 10 episodes of Dig will be available to stream on Peacock on November 23.
