Chris Pratt recently confirmed that his character Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, will be returning to the MCU.
Speaking on The Playlist’s “Bingeworthy” podcast, Pratt said: “I have a great relationship with Kevin [Feige] and Lou [D’Esposito], and there have been both ongoing conversations about how we make good on that promise and also hard action taken to make sure that we make good on that promise.”
He went on to say: “So yeah, you’ll see Star-Lord again, which is very exciting, but I’m not at liberty to say when that’s going to be, but he’s not going anywhere.”

Star-Lord, the leader of the ragtag, space-based superhero team known as the Guardians of the Galaxy, has appeared in six MCU films to date. Pratt’s last turn as the beloved hero was in 2023’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which ended with Quill arriving on Earth to reunite with his grandfather.
Marvel Studios’ head honcho Kevin Feige is yet to comment on Star-Lord’s return, but has left his fate very much open. The post-credits scene text in Guardians 3 announced, “The Legendary Star-Lord will return”, so it’s no surprise to die-hard fans that he’ll be coming back. When, however, remains to be seen.
The next MCU film is the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday, which hits cinemas on December 18. Pratt hasn’t been confirmed to appear in Doomsday although many fans speculate that he may return in its follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, in 2027, but first we have to nervously wait to see what happens in Doomsday..
