According to Variety, Richard Madden (Game of Thrones) has been cast in Trauma, an upcoming thriller for Prime Video and Paramount+.
The story is described as following former Royal Marines medic turned ER doctor Jim Marchant (Madden) fighting his way through the building after terrorists seize a busy London Hospital to take the Prime Minister hostage during surgery. As he takes the hospital floor by floor, the balance of power changes and the building becomes a deadly battle of strategy, nerve, and survival.

The show came together through a co-production model brokered by Lionsgate Television and 42 Management & Production, bringing together Prime Video and Paramount+ for distribution, with Hannah Blyth, head of content acquisition for TV at Prime Video UK/Ireland, acquiring the project for Amazon. Geoff Bussetil (Slow Horses) created the series and will also write. Daniel Syrkin (Mobland) will direct and executive produce, with Madden executive producing in addition to being in the show. 42’s Ben Pugh and Ben Cavey will also executive produce. Chrissy Skinns will produce, with 42’s Chris Kennedy co-producing.
Most people will recognise Madden for his role in the popular HBO series Game of Thrones, on which he played Robb Stark for three seasons. Later, he went on to win a Golden Globe for his work in the BBC One series Bodyguard, with the show earning an Emmy nomination. His other TV roles include Citadel and the upcoming show Trinity. On the big screen, he has appeared in Eternals for Marvel as well as 2015’s Cinderella, Rocketman, and 1917.
Trauma will air the series in the U.K. and Ireland on Prime Video, with Paramount+ releasing in all other territories globally.
