Disney+ has released the first trailer for the upcoming third season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which premieres later this year.
The season picks up after Annabeth is captured by the forces of Kronos, leaving Percy to embark on a perilous journey to rescue her. In doing so, he must free a goddess in chains, confront the Titan’s curse, and avoid triggering the fall of Olympus. Luckily, he’s got Grover by his side and some other unlikely quest mates to help him confront a prophecy with potential dire consequences.
The returning cast includes the main trio: Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood and Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase. Also returning for Season 3 are Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, Daniel Diemer as Tyson and Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue. New Greek gods will be introduced over the course of the season, including Dafne Keen as Artemis, Hubert Smielecki as Apollo, Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite and Ming-Na Wen as Hera.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is based on Riordan’s bestselling book series of the same name, and my all-time favourite book series, which was first released in 2005. There have since been several books and spin-offs set in the same universe since. It’ll be interesting to see how many of these they adapt, with the key problem being filming as fast as the actors age. If they manage it, though, we could be seeing Scobell on our screens for a long time!
Riordan created the Disney+ series with Jonathan E. Steinberg, who serves as the co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Craig Silverstein and Dan Shotz. Additional executive producers include Riordan and his wife, Rebecca; the Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell and D.J. Goldberg; Bert Salke; James Bobin; Jim Rower; Albert Kim; Jason Ensler; and Sarah Watson.
