Nicholas Hoult has been cast as Gilderoy Lockhart, a major character in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, for the upcoming second season of HBO’s Harry Potter series.
The character is described in the books as being a ‘notoriously vain, boastful and fame-obsessed wizard‘ well-versed in Memory Charms who gets recruited by Dumbledore to be the next Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts. He was expertly played in the original films by Kenneth Branagh, and I can’t help but feel that Hoult will also do an incredible job given his recent eccentric performance as Lex Luthor in Superman.
