FX has ordered a limited series called Legends that brings back the cast of the outlaw bike drama Sons of Anarchy in an interesting new way.
Legends follows the cast of Sons of Anarchy reuniting at a fan convention after more than a decade. Soon, the line between life and art blurs as the fractured brotherhood finds itself up against a real-world threat more dangerous than anything they ever faced in their show. The series will feature Charlie Hunnam (Jax), Ron Perlman (Clay), Katey Sagal (Gemma), Maggie Siff (Tara), Mark Boone Junior (Bobby), Tommy Flanagan (Chibs), Kim Coates (Tig), and Theo Rossi (Juice).

Hunnam developed the show with Jonathan Groff (the producer known for black-ish, not the megastar). They serve as executive producers alongside Rob Mac, Nicholas Frenkel, and Jackie Cohn. It will be produced by FX Productions and 20th Television. Nick Grad, FX Entertainment president, said, “When Charlie brought us this inspired idea, we instantly sparked onto his bold and entertaining vision. Charlie’s talents are on full display as a writer, performer and executive producer, leading the real-life brotherhood on an adventure that is both a love letter to the series and a fun meta twist on what fans think they know.”
For those who don’t know, Sons of Anarchy was created by Kurt Sutter and proved to be a massive hit for FX just as the network was beginning to make its push into original scripted dramas 20 years ago. It premiered in 2008, running for seven seasons and nearly 100 episodes.
