Saturday Night Live UK has just announced its first host and music act pairing for its second season, and it is incredibly exciting – Jeff Goldblum (Wicked) and CMAT!

We’re planning to bring you even more coverage of the upcoming second season, and news like this is a brilliant way to start. Broadcast live each week, the series will once again return to our screens on the 12th September. Every episode will see a different celebrity host and musical guest, alongside topical sketches, live music performances and, of course, Weekend Update. Hosts last season included Tina Fey, Riz Ahmed, Hannah Waddingham and more!

I’ve always been a massive fan of Saturday Night Live, and I was really pleased to see that the first season of the UK adaptation turned out well. There was a lot of doubt heading into the first season, which debuted earlier in the year, but the cast and crew blew it all away. There were viral moments, such as Jack Shep‘s Princess Di, and there were fresh, exciting takes on long-established segments from the original. Huge praise has to go to the team behind the show for delivering such a strong opening season, and everyone here at The Feature is looking forward to what they produce for this follow-up season.

Interestingly, all 11 members of the inaugural cast are confirmed to be returning, which isn’t always something that takes place in the original version of the show. Those cast members are: Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi and Paddy Young. This is a superb decision given the nerves that existed around the show when it first launched, and it will be fun to see their confidence continue to grow now they’ve found their footing!

SNL UK returns to Sky and the streaming service NOW on the 12th September with the first six episodes, with additional shows planned in early 2027.
