According to reports, Demi Lovato will make a cameo appearance in the highly anticipated Camp Rock 3, reprising her role as Mitchie Torres.
This will massively excite long-term fans of the franchise after it was initially announced that she would only be executive producing the film without an on-screen appearance. Her return to camp comes 18 years after the first film came out, which officially sent her on the path to Disney Stardom. The first film, Camp Rock, premiered in 2008 as the second-most-watched Disney Channel Original Movie of all time, and remains third after High School Musical 2 and Wizards of Waverley Place: The Movie. A sequel for the film soon followed in 2010, with both films being watched for more than 535 million hours to date.

Lovato isn’t the only star returning to the franchise, however, with the Jonas Brothers also returning to the films that helped them to break through to the mainstream. They are executive producing alongside returning to their roles as Connect 3 bandmates Shane Gray (Joe Jonas), Nate Gray (Nick Jonas) and Jason Gray (Kevin Jonas). Maria Canals-Barrera also returns as Mitchie’s mother, Connie. Veronica Rodriguez directed the latest film from a screenplay by Eydie Faye.
The official logline for the film reads, “When Connect 3 loses their opening act for a major reunion tour, they return to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing. As campers vie for the chance to open for their favourite band, tensions rise, and friendships are tested — leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances.” The rest of the cast includes Malachi Barton, Lumi Pollack, Sherry Cola, Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, Brooklynn Pitts and Ava Jean.
Camp Rock 3 releases on Disney Channel on August 13, 2026 and on Disney+ on August 14, 2026.
