Lanterns, the latest release from DC Studios, continues to grow in viewership with 10 million viewers globally after three days.
This marks a series high for the show, which is incredibly positive for the studios, as it has continued to grow week by week since its premiere on August 16th. HBO Max is also reporting that the show’s pilot episode has now reached more than 20 million viewers worldwide and is among the top five show launches in the platform’s history.

The show follows recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. Episode Three focuses on the backstory of John Stewart and how long he’s been preparing to hopefully one day take over the Green Lantern role from Hal Jordan.
Claude De Pear for The Feature reviewed the show and said it was “a lot of fun” and he “instantly felt more enthusiastic towards DC as a result.” He also praised Pierre and Chandler, “who are both brilliant and really encapsulate the characters perfectly”.
The show is co-written by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King, with all three serving as executive producers. James Gunn, Peter Safran and Ron Schmidt also executive produce. It’s based on DC’s Green Lantern, with Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Jason Ritter and Ulrich Thomsen also appearing.
Lanterns is available to watch on HBO Max, with episodes released weekly.
