Damson Idris is teaming up with Apple Studios once again for Sacrament, a new thriller feature with Jonathan Levine attached to direct.
The news follows the success of their last collaboration, F1: The Movie, which grossed around $634 million dollars worldwide and received multiple Oscar nominations, including Best Picture.
Levine, whose upcoming projects include the highly anticipated sports drama Mr Irrelevant (which comes out Christmas Day) and a Days of Thunder sequel starring Tom Cruise, will also produce the film alongside Gillian Bohrer through their company MegaMix. Idris will also serve as producer under his Keep Quiet Productions banner.

The project will be co-produced by Chernin Entertainment via its first-look feature deal with Apple, with Peter Chernin and David Ready attached as producers. The script was penned by Enzo Mileti and Scott Wilson, who previously wrote the hit FX series Snowfall, in which Idris also starred. Chernin reportedly approached Idris with the script for Sacrament, according to Deadline.
The film follows two cops-turned-contractors from Chicago who track a runaway thief to a remote township in Sacrament, Utah. This routine job then escalates as the pair are outnumbered, outgunned and forced to become better partners.
Sacrament joins a long line of titles developed and produced by Apple and Chernin Entertainment, including One Month Mark, Last Flight Out, the Emmy-nominated series See starring Jason Momoa and the Emmy-winning documentary series The War for Football.
The film is still in the early development stages and does not have a scheduled release date.
