Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie is reportedly circling a role opposite Ryan Gosling in Marvel Studios’ Ghost Rider.
Deadline confirms the news about Storrie’s potential involvement in the project, although the role has not yet been confirmed. Storrie has seen an unprecedented rise to fame after his breakout role as Ilya Rozanov in the acclaimed hockey romance, and is continuing that success with Ghost Rider. Ryan Gosling is also attached to star, reuniting with Shawn Levy as director after Star Wars: Starfighter.

Marvel announced the project at San Diego Comic-Con; whilst we have no confirmation on specifics of Storrie’s involvement, he is reportedly expected to play the villain opposite Gosling’s character, Johnny Blaze, a stunt motorcyclist. Based on the comics, Blaze makes a deal with the demon Mephisto to save his adoptive father, which ties him to the Spirit of Vengeance. Gosling is not the first person to take on the Ghost Rider moniker, with his predecessor Nicolas Cage playing the character in two movies, Ghost Rider (2007), and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011). This would also mark Ghost Rider’s official introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, joining the likes of the Avengers as Marvel Studios continues to expand its roster of heroes ahead of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Marvel Studios is just one in the long line of companies looking to snatch the star up–Storrie will also be starring in Turpentine, a thriller directed by Craig Zobel, and The Bell Jar, directed by Sarah Polley for Focus Features.
Production for Marvel Studios’ Ghost Rider is slated to begin in 2027, with a proposed release date of 28th July 2028.
